Create New Admin Account With PHP Code

Hey there! It has been a long long time since my last post! So here is my gem of the day 😉

Personally, I use this code very frequently and it has saved me from a lot of trouble many times. There are times when I do not have access to a site’s with administrator privileges, nor to the phpMyAdmin to create a new user. In these cases, I use the following PHP code, in the functions.php file, of an active theme:

function add_admin_acct(){
	$login = 'mynewusername';
	$passw = 'mynewpassword';
	$email = 'my@email.com';

	if ( !username_exists( $login )  && !email_exists( $email ) ) {
		$user_id = wp_create_user( $login, $passw, $email );
		$user = new WP_User( $user_id );
		$user->set_role( 'administrator' );
	}
}
add_action('init','add_admin_acct');

This piece of code is not mine, I’ve found it on George’s Stephanis website for which I am very grateful.

After this code is added, simply visit the front end of a site. Please always remember to remove this code once a user is created, for security reasons.

Do you have any other way to create an administrator with PHP code?

Best Free CSS Optimization Tools

This is not a WordPress related article. WordPress has some amazing plugins that will optimize the CSS for you. Still, there are cases were installing WordPress site for a client is not beneficial. If the site’s requirements is from one to few pages, with static content, the best choice is to build a simple HTML template.

Let’s look at at the case of Slide To The Side, it is simple HTML page I made for a friend of mine. After running PageSpeed Insights, the results for Desktop are 91 out of 100, which is quite a good result, but it can be improved.

Our current goal is to inline and optimizes CSS on this site. There is only one CSS file style.css on the site, so it makes the things more simple. Let’s have a look at the online tools available that can inline/optimize it.

And wow, compression ratio is  29.6% , which means -183 Bytes less from the original size 😉

CSS Compressor – CSS Drive

CSS Compressor provides fewer options compared to the CSS Optimizer. After CSS compression the tool saved 147 bytes, 5.6% less than the previous tool. Though I found it equally good and easy to use.

Code Beautifier

This tool I found provided the best results so far. The Compression ratio is 32.3%, -200 Bytes less from the original file. Very simple tool to use. Awesome!

Clean CSS – Optimize and Format your CSS

Many options provided from Clean CSS too. You can also optimize the HTML code, which I did, I guess my code was pretty clean cause saw no changes ;). CSS minify on the other hand the simplest tool to use, with no options available. It also didn’t provide the comparison ratio result, so I did the calculation myself; it made the style.css smaller by 163 KB, so it did 27,1% reduction.

That’s it for now, let me know below in the comments if you have any another Inline CSS tool to suggest.

How To Add CSS Code In MU Plugin

A must-use plugin (also called a ‘mu-plugin’) is a plugin that will always be activated by default, without you needing to do it yourself. To activate a mu-plugin, you just have to upload it in the right directory, and WordPress will automatically know that this plugin must be used. Moreover, a mu-plugin cannot be deactivated: it will always be executed, unless it is uninstalled.

Originally, mu-plugins were only available for WPMU, for those sites which used multiple (multisite) blogs. Back then, a mu-plugin was just a plugin activated for all blogs.

Fun fact, that the WordPress is loading mu-plugins in alphabetical order, before normal plugins.

All mu-plugins must be placed at wp-content/mu-plugins by default, in case /mu-plugins/ folder is not there, feel free to create it.

Add CSS code in mu-plugin

Create a file named style.php and add the following code inside.

<?php
add_action( 'wp_head', function() {
 ?>
 <style>

/* YOUR CSS CODE GOES HERE*/

 </style>
 <?php
} );

Add your CSS code between

<style></style>

tags.

Fell free to comment bellow if you have something new to add 🙂

Girl Post: How to Be Clean While Working From Home And Not Falling Into A Depression

Admit it, girl, working from home is a blessing for us women. Working from home is both awesome and horrible. The awesome staff is a flexible schedule the bad thing is that sometimes we relax for a long period, doesn’t change our pajamas and don’t care about taking a shower since we are not going anywhere. Being like that for some period make us feel depressed.

So here are some solution that I tried on myself and got rid of my depression

Dress up pretty!

Wear your cocktail dress, just like that & look fancy when you are working. You will feel more like a lady

Check this article, what you wear affect your state of mind and increase your productivity. So wear your best dress!

Make your hair!

Thake the damn curly iron and do your hair or even better give yourself Amy’s look. Make yourself pretty before you start working. I believe that you need to be always ready to get out from your house in last 5 minutes and look perfect. It is a secret to success.

Go To The Gym

Yes girl, get your ass up and go work these glutes out :). Working out before work will feel your energy levels to the max which will help you to work straight for 6 hours without a break. Working out in the morning magically revs up your metabolism as well. Check this article to see how working out will affect your body and mind.

For me,  an hour jogging before work clears my mind and I find it easy to concentrate on things that matter.

This small little things will boost your confidence. If you have any useful suggestions, I will be happy to hear theme out. Comment bellow

Show the Featured Image Inside A Post On A Site Using Shortcode

If you are looking how to insert a featured image inside a post, you can try the following solution.

 Add the following code inside the functions.php of your theme:

add_shortcode('thumbnail','thumbnail_in_content');
function thumbnail_in_content( $atts ) {
global $post;
return get_the_post_thumbnail( $post->ID );
}

Control the features images with the shortcode:

[thumbnail size=medium align=right]

The side can be changed to small, medium and large values and/or align can be none, center, right or left.

Another way to control the thumbnail size with size=’array( 300, 200)’. It will look like this

[thumbnail size='array( 300, 200)']

Change the array value to a different number to achieve the result you need.

Default caption

Make sure you have the new database selected, then run some sql updates and replacement commands on the tables notably, wp_options, wp_posts, wp_postmeta.

Don’t forget to replace wp_ prefix with your own 😉

UPDATE wp_options SET option_value = replace(option_value, 'http://www.oldurl', 'http://www.newurl') WHERE option_name = 'home' OR option_name = 'siteurl';

UPDATE wp_posts SET guid = replace(guid, 'http://www.oldurl','http://www.newurl');
